There are several places you can lubricate to get that drinking glass moving .
You volition have to remove the handles and door cards ;and after market arm rest if ane has been added .
the crank mechanism is inside the door which makes oiling a piddling difficult ....But.... I have a " play tricks " for you lot ...
I use marvel mystery oil . it comes in a container with a tapered spout ; go a piece of wire ( coat hanger ) and bend it so it goes through ane of the holes and upwards against the crank .
if you drip oil onto the wire it volition run down to where you demand it
this besides works for getting oil into the tracks that are just open to the inside of the door .photograph below ;

Grandfather'southward trick will help. Merely, if you want the best results, you should remove the window regulator. Removing it will allow you to flush out all the old dirt, grease and other debree from the winder. You tin can and so add fresh grease to the gear and winder parts.

If y'all door window felts are in good condition, it volition make a huge difference.

What they are proverb does the do the job every bit far equally loosening up the crank upward creepo down role. Also I use some spray silicone on the channels the glass slides in .
Do you lot have any repair manuals for the vehicle?

I used this stuff and it made it work like brand new after trying baby powder which helped but not as good every bit the spray. This was on new safe though,. I sprayed everywhere the window touches including the felt tracks.

thomas...when you utilize the silicone spray, it must go on the window drinking glass and smear information technology upwards...or do you let it dry before you roll the window up?

My '65 was pretty bad like that. I ended upwardly pulling the door panel off and spraying within the aqueduct with WD-40 to make clean out all the debris and rust. after a few applications of that, rolling the window up and down several times and letting it sit overnight, I sprayed silicon lubricant in the channel. Has worked flawlessly since.
